Great looking Weekend!
Well, finally we’ll dry out a bit and see some less humid weather. Look for lots of sunshine this weekend, but temperature’s will be in the upper 80’s to near 90. That’s somewhat cooler compared to the 99 we had on Thursday and 100 on Wednesday.
Not many showers this weekend, so enjoy an outdoor weekend, but use the sunscreen, the UV Index is very high and you can burn fast. I need SPF 2000!! My skin burns from the dome light in the car!!
Might try to get on the boat for a bit this weekend after I do my Air Force duty at the base. This is our “UTA” weekend (that’s what we call it in the Air Force) which means I have the duty. The good news is the sun sets so late, we can get out for a bit after our duty day.
Had lunch with an old friend and former nuclear submarine commander who now works in the cruise business. He tells me there are some amazing ships coming out in the next few years for those who enjoy cruising. Personally, it’s one of the most relaxing vacations I can take. No blackberry, no phone, just the sea going by and a tall virgin pina colada.
Behind the scenes, our fantastic engineering and news team just switched to a new newsroom computer system and video management system….all in the same day!! You can’t really tell on tv (and that’s a good thing!) but our folks have been training on this new stuff which we write our shows with. Congrats to our team for getting this up and running so smoothly.
HD is on the way!! Look for a HUGE change in how things look if you have HDTV starting late September as we become the first station in the state to broadcast news completely in High Definition.
Okay, have to run to get the show ready. Both Scott and I wish you a great weekend and hope you join us for tonight’s broadcast and throughout the weekend with Brad Miller watching the weather for us.
