So is it possible to have a microclimate that is really small? The old part of Mount Pleasant, near Sea Island Shopping Center seems to always miss the rain. Like today, the storm almost seemed to reverse course - SE to NW while all the other storms along the coast were pretty much going NW to SE - and we again got less than 1/10th of an inch of rain. It hasn't rained enough to get wet under the trees here since July12th. I am watering constantly in my yard and still have wilting azaleas and dead dogwood trees. Guess I just needed to vent! So all of you getting inches of rain please remember us in the micro desert of the Lowcountry.

[...] Lowcountrywx.com: The questions are already coming everywhere we go…”whats the season looking like this year” or “are we going to get hit this year”. Of course we give the standard answer…”We just don’t know yet. We will have to wait and see.” There is some degree of reliability in overall season to season activity but there is no way to tell where or when an individual storm will form more than a few days out. So for all of you wanting a more accurate tropical forecast…just hold on. We are getting better year after year. [...]
