The LowCountry

The LowCountry of South Carolina is the low-lying Southern region of the state. The Charleston Metro, Santee-Cooper Lakes, Beaufort, Walterboro, and Hilton Head Island are all located in the LowCountry. While there is there is not a set boundary for the LowCountry, it includes Allendale, Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton, and Jasper Counties. However, I will often mention Bamburg, Orangeburg, Georgetown, and Williamsburg in my discussions. The climate is hot and humid, but extremely variable in the non-Summer months. Hurricanes, tornadoes, and snowstorms all impact the region.
